Pit Pot	Sega	1985	In "Pit Pot" you control a little knight on a quest to rescue a princess from a dungeon full of evil creatures. The game looks a bit like the dungeons from Zelda, but gameplay is a bit different. You mostly have to find keys in the rooms to open up further rooms. The looks and sounds good. It somewhat cute, but also rather difficult. One of the more interesting early Master System games.*The princess has been kidnapped and held captive inside the castle, and your job is to navigate each room by collecting all the goodies, and killing monsters using the hammer that a witch gave you. Once you have done that, you must get through one of the open doorways. To navigate the room, you can walk either on the gray tiles, or the yellow ones that surround them. Monsters also can walk on these gray tiles, but you can make them fall down if you smash a tile that they're on. The monsters will regenerate in the room after five seconds. Be careful of dragons that will throw fireballs at you. If you get hit by a dragon, its fireball, or one of the monsters, you will lose a life. You can collect keys that will open locked doorways, so that you can exit through them. Some power-ups can also be collected. Collecting hearts, for example, will freeze all monsters on screen for a limited amount of time, giving you the opportunity of killing them.*Outside Japan Pit Pot was only available via a combo-cartridge together with [game=#9209]Astro Warrior[/game].
Astro Warrior & Pit Pot	Sega	1986	Two games on one cartridge: Pit Pot: The Magical Castle The princess has been kidnapped. To rescue her, navigate your way through each room while avoiding its inhabitants such as dragons and guards. If necessary, use your magical hammer to knock them off the screen. You can also knock a gray tile that they are on to cause them to fall down and die. You exit each room by passing through doors, but you have to find a golden key that will unlock some of them. Astro Warrior Blast your way through three zones, including Galaxy Zone, Asteroid Zone, and Nebula Zone. Enemies will start making their way down the screen, but you only have bullets to deal with them. There are flashing points on the terrain in which you can shoot at, Shooting enough of these will cause a number of green ships, which when destroyed, will upgrade your firepower. At the end of each zone, you come face to face with a boss, and it is likely that you are going to need that extra firepower.
My Hero	Sega	1986	A bunch of seedy punks - complete with mohawks - try to steal your girl. It's a new variation on the old "Boy loses Girl" theme. Only it's more like "Boy loses life, if he doesn't get Girl back." Battle knife throwers, ferocious bulldogs, flying bottles, even the gang leader - whose name happens to be Mohikan. If it all seems hopelessly overwhelming, take heart. You're a high-ranking kung fu master. So you do have incredible martial arts skills in your favor. But then again, you don't have your girl. One aspect of this adventure is that you'll have to play the classic game of "rock, paper, scissors" against the henchmen in order to defeat them. With 16 different levels to conquer in order to save Egle, this classic is sure to test your skills and your wits at the same time.*Great little platformer that I used to love when I was a bit younger. The best aspects are the bike, the grim reapers, and the excellent Rock, Scissors and Paper game. :)
